Graduating this month, November 14, 2019 at 5pm.
I am happy to share an update for Mikey AHEPA!
Patty will be so proud of this boy – I hope she and her husband will be able to attend graduation once he is paired with his warrior.
Mikey AHEPA and I have started our second week of Phase three together. He is an amazing dog. Besides being very intelligent, he is very handsome. It is impossible to train Mikey AHEPA out in public without having people come up to me and talk to me about how handsome he is and how well behaved he is. They are definitely not wrong! Since Mikey AHEPA's last update, we have tackled Ikea, Costco, the airport: going all the way through security to the gates, and historical St Augustine. All of these locations are high exposure. There are large crowds and strange dogs at every corner to name a few consistent distractions. Even though these places have known to be too challenging for dogs Mikey AHEPA walked around with confidence and with amazing obedience throughout all our training sessions. His biggest hurdle so far is laying under a table at a restaurant while I eat. I soon found out that by simply checking in with him and rewarding him for being a good boy helped him be more successful.
Mikey AHEPA has been a joy to work with and I look forward to the day he is paired with his Warrior!
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Mikey AHEPA: Mikey is currently in his fourteenth week of training at K9s for Warriors. He has recently been added to my training string and he seems to love to work for me. His obedience is phenomenal in familiar as well as unfamiliar areas. Mikey struggles with controlling his friendly impulses around other people and dogs, so we are mainly working on his impulse control. He is showing progress every day with his self-control. He is an absolute joy to work with and puts a smile on my face every morning. 10/01/2019
Not much has changed since our last update, as Mikey has been getting over his recent bout of upper respiratory infection,
but I am happy to announce as of yesterday Mikey has been given the all clear and has returned to the kennels to resume his training.
The first thing I did with Mikey was take him to a yard for him to stretch his legs and have some fun, and he loved it! I am so excited to continue working with Mikey and making up for lost time. 08/29/2019
Mikey AHEPA: Mikey has been hard at work since our last update!
On campus, we have been working hard on Mikey's impulse control, as he just loves everything life has to offer,
especially tennis balls and soft toys! Off campus, Mikey has been to Target and a local pet store.
Mikey knows when the vest is on that it is time to work, as he always is a pleasure to work out in public.
Unfortunately, Mikey has recently caught a case of an upper respiratory infection and his training has been put on hold until he is feeling better.
I look forward to Mikey's speedy recovery! 08/22/2019
This is from Patty Malloy naming her service dog, Mikey.
We want to name our dog Mikey. We called my son Mikey when he was a little boy.
We want our Mikey to help a veteran and wallaby his side. Mikey was kind and funny and loyal.
When Mikey hugged you, you felt his love.
He loved his family with all his heart. He always wore a cross and he had Jesus in his heart and in his life.
Michael was a giving person and is forever in our hearts.
