We chose the name Lilli Ann
Daughters of Penelope Altes Chapter 163
The peace theme brought us to this name. The peace lily plant symbolizes peace, purity, innocence and harmony.
The name for the flower came about, so it said, by European explorers seeing the white flowers growing wild on the banks of a stream.
They were reminded of the traditional white flag used to signal no combat or surrender.
And then we were reminded of our beloved Sister Lilliann Demitry who was a founding member of Our ALTES #163 Chapter on October 6,1947.
Over the years she served as local President, District Governor and Grand President.
We found it fitting to then tack on the middle name Ann to honor Lilliann.
